Have you ever had a really weird dream that, when waking up, gives you an overwhelming feeling that lasts practically the whole day?

Last night, one stuck with me so vividly, I had to draw it.

All I remember was that I was younger (maybe 7 or 8) and I had a pet elephant that I cherished more than anything in the world. She even let me paint designs on her rough skin. I was living in some sort of small village that (for no reason) had accused her of being a dangerous and useless addition to my life. They took her from me and sent her away, but I followed close behind. No matter how much I cried and pleaded that she was the most tranquil and important thing to me, they didn't listen.

The last part I remember is standing on her tusks and hugging her big forehead, saying our farewells. Sometime after we finally parted, she had found a nice place to live with other elephants. Later, I was told that she had been mercilessly slaughtered by poachers, her beautiful ivory tusks carved from her skull.

Because sneaking into African animal reservations and killing off animals just for their tusks is stupid >:[

...I miss my pretty elephant.
